Cherry Pie : Fake Benefit Make-up!

Fake Benefit Make-up!

Hopefully everyone has recovered from their street parties and Royal Wedding celebrations yesterday. The street party on the road next to ours apparently ended at 10pm but there was music going on until at least 4am. I wouldn't have minded if the music was any good but it was awful whirring, popping stuff with drum and bass, yuck. I managed to get to sleep, even though it sounded like the party was actually in our bedroom, so it didn't bother me too much in the end.

Anyway, onto the point of this post. I recently purchased two Benefit make-up products for a couple of pounds from eBay. Stupidly, I didn't check the seller feedback until I saw the Money Saving Expert Forums where somebody was talking about people on eBay selling cheap Benefit make-up.

I'm not quite sure why I brought these products, I did it on a bit of whim because they were so cheap and I don't have anything Benefit. Anyway, the Concealer arrived today and I don't know how to tell if it's fake or not, can anyone help?

It's really difficult to tell as I have never used any Benefit products before and I'm not sure what to look out for!

One thing I know is not fake is the new Duo Eyeshadow in 'Meteoric' I picked up yesterday from Topshop. The colours are absolutely gorgeous and I love the Marble effect! I've picked up an eye pencil and eyeliner in the past from Topshop make up but this is a lot more special.

I'll have to try and remember to post a pic of me wearing it soon!

I should have swapped the questions around and had this as my challenge for yesterday seeing as the entire world went Wedding crazy! I'm not one of those girls who has been planning her wedding since she was 6 so I don't really have a 'dream wedding' planned. I do however know that I'd like a simple dress (wasn't Kate's evening reception dress absolutely gorgeous?), a wedding cake that isn't sponge (Vince agrees!) and I definitely do not want a cheesy disco.

From attending other people's weddings, I have decided that I want to create some sort of playlist for the reception of all the songs I love and I definitely do not want any horrible YMCA or anything like that. If anyone actually comes to my wedding, there probably won't be many people on the dance floor as I love my rock music so most of the playlist would consist of my fave bands! I would probably include pop songs for everyone else but no cheesy 80s/90s songs. *Shudder*

I recently found these pics on my Dad's Facebook of my Nan and Grandad's wedding and just had to post them!

  6. The Topshop eyeshadow looks fab! :)

There are lots of online guides to finding out whether the Benefit make up is fake, sometimes it is quite difficult to work it out!

I bought a couple of things from eBay which were fake, one I sent back and the other I was a bit oblivious until I read about the fact that there are fakes out there (I couldn't believe that anyone would fake make up but there you go!)

I now go by the rule of thumb that most of it is probably fake on eBay so I'll only buy it from authorised sellers. It costs more but you're guaranteed the authentic product rather than something you don't even know what is in it!

    Hope that helps :)

  7. Hey Cherry,

I used to buy ALL of my Benefit make-up on eBay but then I, like you, bought a product that seemed too good to be true. It was Benetint, and I could tell that it was fake because of the writing on the bottle and also the content had bubbles in it! I fear your Boi-ing is fake because the Benefit logo on the front of the package doesn't look right to me. I've learnt to only buy from authorised/top-rated sellers on eBay OR just save up for the real thing on the Benefit website/ASOS. Honestly it's so much less hassle than having to send fake products back and you feel better that you've saved up for the real thing. Hope that helps!
