MUA All In One Beauty Balm

MUA All In One Beauty Balm
MUA All In One Beauty Balm - £4*
MUA All In One Beauty Balm MUA All In One Beauty Balm
I was recently sent the MUA All In One Beauty Balm and was really interested to try it out.

For £4 it is a real bargain of a product. I was sent the Light Rose shade, which I thought would be a pretty good match, but upon application I think it is a bit too orangey for my skin.

The BB cream aims to prime the skin and even out its tone, while also making it look that little bit brighter. I think it does a good job of evening out the skin tone and brightening the skin, making it look a bit fresher, but as I mentioned this shade is a bit too dark for my liking.

Having let it sink in I think it does look a little better in the light and it gives a really nice coverage, a great alternative to a heavy foundation, providing you pick the right shade.

Wednesday Wishlist #58

Wednesday Wishlist
Topshop: Bunny Soap - £8, Reindeer Names Scarf - £40, Rib Beanie - £10, Deer Print Tee - £30

I recently came across the new collection for Topshop by Emma Cook. It's full or quirky, fun items and festive prints. The prices for some items are quite reasonable, but then the scarf is £40 and more expensive than a t-shirt, which really doesn't make sense to me!

I just love all of the different prints that are in this range, from the reindeer names to the fairy lights and Christmas wrapping paper.

I think some of the items from the range would make really great Christmas presents and they even have a few mini items for little ladies too!

Look Beauty Nail Pop in Lacquer - £5*

Look Beauty Nail Pop in Lacquer
I love being sent lovely goodies like this. I wasn't expecting to receive anything from Look Beauty, so it was really nice to receive a little parcel and this gorgeous nail polish was part of the package.

I really like Look Beauty's Nail Pop products as they are really hard-wearing and fast drying and they come in a huge selection of colours as well.

The Lacquer shade is a lovely festive gold shimmer that looks great and really catches the light well. As I mentioned it's quite hard-wearing and lasts a good few days. I think this shade would be great as an accent nail, but as you can see I've gone for the all over look, which is equally as nice.

Have you tried Look Beauty's Nail Pop polishes?

A scary week in photos

This week was pretty quiet and chilled and I wasn't anywhere near as busy at work as I was last week.

As you'll notice there's barely any pictures above, which is a bit unlike me, but I think this week I simply just forgot about Instagramming everything! I will be back on form next week, I promise.

So, as I said it was pretty relaxing week, but I was definitely looking forward to Friday evening. After getting home and napping for a while, Vince texted me to say he was on his way home. Nearly an hour later, he still wasn't home!

After calling him several times, I received a call to say he had been in a car accident! It was awful getting a call like that and I instantly thought the worst, especially as the policeman said he was being cut out of the car.

I made my way down to the hospital straight away and after a while was able to see him. It was really scary because he was in one of those neck and head braces, but luckily there was no damage to either.

After a very long wait Vince was allowed home. He has hurt his elbow and has a huge black eye and cuts above his eye. He now has some aches and pains but other than that he is all ok thankfully! We went to the car recovery place yesterday to retrieve all of his belongings and I can't believe how badly the car was damaged and I can't believe he didn't come away with more serious injuries!

He's been off work this weekend, which has been nice actually as we never get to spend the weekends together and he's going to have the next week off as well to recover.

So, it wasn't the greatest end to the week! What have you been up to this week?

Simply Beach Swimwear and Lingerie

SimplyBeach Victoria Balcony Bra
SimplyBeach - Victoria Padded Balcony Bra - £26*, Victoria Mini Brief - £12*

SimplyBeach Victoria Mini Brief

SimplyBeach Victoria Padded Balcony Bra

I was recently asked if I would like to review a product from SimplyBeach.com. I was given a £50 voucher and free reign to choose whatever I wanted.

The site contains full ranges of women's swimwear and lingerie, as well as some nightwear, loungewear and a few bits for the guys too.

It was pretty difficult for me to choose something as there is so much to chose from. I first thought about some loungewear or nightwear, but then realised I already have so much of that. I decided against swimwear as I wouldn't be using it and it would just be a waste of a voucher so I ended up deciding on the Victoria Padded Balcony Bra in Berry with matching bottoms.

There were a lot of other products that I wanted but I found that a lot of the sizes were out of stock, which was really disappointing. I personally also found the prices a little expensive. I personally probably wouldn't spend my own £26 on a bra and then another £12 on the bottoms! That's one thing that really annoys me is the fact that we now have to buy underwear in seperates. Maybe that's just me though?

It didn't take long at all for the products to arrive so I was really happy about that. I was a bit disappointed by the blue parcel bag covered in brown tape though. I get the impression that this website is a bit better quality than most so I was expecting some really nice packaging. Packaging is always a big thing with a product such as underwear so I'll admit I was a bit disappointed to see a blue blob land on the door mat.

Overall I think the sizing is spot on and there is a great selection to choose from, I just wish more of the choices were in stock. They have some really nice nightwear, which I would definitely look into further with Christmas coming up.

Wednesday Wishlist #57

Wednesday Wishlist
Topshop: Polar Bear Xmas PJ Set - £26, Cat Slippers - £14
New Look: Heart Print Dressing Gown - £19.99
Internacionale: Animal Heart Onesie - £12.99
Matalan: Knitted Slipper Boots - £10

Every Christmas I get a few of the same presents. I get a calendar, a diary, slippers/dressing gown and some pyjamas. These days I'm still asking for them every year and I love getting new pyjamas, so I thought I'd put together a themed Wednesday Wishlist based on one of my favourite presents!

I spotted the Topshop Cat Slippers in store not long ago and thought they were lovely. I originally wanted the cat shoes that were popular for a little while earlier this year. I do love wearing slippers around the house and these look extra cosy!

I've asked for a dressing gown this year as the one I have is falling apart a bit. The pocket is all ripped and it's not so soft anymore as it's been washed so much. I love a big fluffy dressing gown and I really like the New Look Heart Print Dressing Gown, very pretty!

I'm still contemplating buying a onesie and I'm leaning further and further towards actually getting one. This one from Internacionale looks like it would fit quite well!

If you have any recommendations for comfy and cosy onesies, then please let me know in the comments!

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash
Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash - £6.50

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash
I wasn't aware that Soap & Glory had recently releases some new products in their range. I was browsing the collection at Boots and spotted a few new bits, including the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash.

I picked it up on a bit of a whim as the packaging just looked lovely and I felt the need for a new shower product. When I got this home and tried it out it was amazing! The smell is absolutely divine, I just can't get enough of it.

It's a lovely, foaming body wash that comes in a huge 500ml bottle with pump and it's loaded with lime and kiwi scents which are gorgeous! The smell really reminds me of some childhood sweets and it just makes the entire bathroom smell lovely.

It's a bit difficult to hold and use the pump while your in the shower but I can totally forgive that thanks to the scent alone. It leaves your skin feeling soft and lovely, but it doesn't really linger on the skin once you're out of the shower, which is a tad disappointing.

All in all it's a wonderful product and I would highly recommend it to those that are won over by scents alone. It's definitely worth the £6.50 as there is so much product so will last absolutely ages!

A dinner party week in photos

This week Vince and I had a bit of a dinner party with our friends. It was the first time they came to visit us in our new house, so we (or should I say Vince) cooked a curry for us all. It was really weird all eating together round one of our houses around a proper table and everything. It was really nice though and we had quite a giggle afterwards playing with the Apple TV and photobooth on the iPad.

Last night we had one of our friends round again for a few drinks and a takeaway. Vince and I really need to stop getting takeaways every single weekend, but I fear if we do then I won't have any content for my week in photos posts!

I've tried to have quite a relaxing weekend as work has been ridiculously busy this week. It's been lovely to have a lie-in these past two mornings. I've booked a couple of days off in December so I'm really looking forward to them. It will give me a chance to do nothing, while also sorting the bits and pieces that need doing around the house as well. It may also be the perfect time to put up our Christmas tree!

What have you all been up to this week?

I think I'm a bit late to the party with this one. I was sent it quite a while ago but it's been sat in my 'to review' box for quite a while and I kind of forgot about it.

When rooting through my box I picked it out and I was impressed once again by the lovely shades in this palette, in particular the marbled shadows, which I almost didn't want to use as it would ruin the marbling.

Each eyeshadow shade has a hint of shimmer which I really like and the marbled effect gives a nice fleck of colour to something that would otherwise be a straight block of colour.

I like the fact that the bottom row of pans are blushes and bronzers, however I'm not really a user or either so they probably won't come in handy for me, but I can imagine how handy they would be for others that use them. All you need is this one palette, perfect for overnight travelling.

Wednesday Wishlist #56

Wednesday Wishlist
Topshop: All over studded leggings - £25
Internacionale: Lazy Bones PJs - £9.99
Matalan: Suedette Laceup Ankle Boot - £22, Black and Gold necklace - £8

I've gone a bit overboard with the spending since I got paid last week. What with rent, new glasses, food shopping and going a bit crazy with the clothes shopping, I've overspent a little. However, that's not stopping me adding items to my wishlist.

I absolutely love wearing my velvet leggings so when I spotted the all-over studded leggings I just needed them instantly! Velvet leggings are ridiculously comfortable and they are my go-to Sunday outfit. They are really hard-wearing and will last a really long time so I am definitely hoping to buy these!

Internacionale and Matalan always come up with such great stuff. They have got to be two of my favourite shops. I need the Internacionale lazy bones PJs in my life. I have a huge collection of pyjamas and always find an excuse to buy new ones! I also love the necklace and boots from Matalan. I'm not really a heels person but I desperately want to be and these look really lovely!

Internacionale Black Bat Jumper

Internacionale Black Bat Jumper
Interacionale: Black Bat Jumper - £19.99

I recently saw Michelle rocking the J.W Anderson for Topshop Bat jumper and thought it was gorgeous. Unfortunately I didn't want to splash out around £60 just for a jumper, so I picked up a much cheaper alternative from Internacionale for £19.99.

I bought it around Halloween time so it's pretty perfect for that time of month, but now it's November and I'm still wearing it and loving it. It's so cosy and warm and I was definitely in need of some winter clothing.

I apologise for the poor picture of the jumper. Having moved into a new house I thought I'd finally have somewhere to perfect outfit photos, but unfortunately it seems my yellow walls are not quite right for such things. It's really rather annoying as I can't find a good spot to take pics. I tried taking them outside but the sun was shining too much so I'm back to square one!

An eating week in photos

I do apologise to everyone as my week in photo posts seem to have just become some kind of food diary.

This week I've enjoyed some lovely meals including a Christmas dinner that Vince brought home from work. It was delicious and really put me in the Christmas spirit! I couldn't eat the sprouts though, yuck.

Vince also rustled up an interesting noodle soup complete with chopped up turkey burgers. It was surprisingly nice! He is really good at creating different dishes and using the strangest of ingredients. He also cooked a delicious curry on Friday night, which we're also going to do on Wednesday during the week when our friends come round and see our place for the first time!

It means I'll have to make sure the house is tidy but it'll be nice to show them our place!

Barry M Pink Sapphire
Every time I go into Boots I have a quick look at the Barry M concession and I always spot lovely new polishes. They are forever releasing new products and I'm forever buying them all up.

I'm loving the new(ish) glitter ranges and I recently picked up Pink Sapphire, which is a polish with lots of different shaped and coloured flecks. It's got a real festive feel about it and I love the pink and silver combination.

As you can see above I've teamed it up with a Barbie Pink and I love it. I think it would work equally as well on any other colour base, especially white. The polish itself is a tad gloopy so it takes a little while to dry, but that is probably the only downside. I can certainly live with that when the polish is this pretty.

Wednesday Wishlist #55 - Keeping cosy

Wednesday Wishlist
Topshop: Aztec Fleece Onesie - £28
Matalan: Fairisle Pyjama Bottoms - £7, Stag Print Flannel Pyjama Shorts - £5, Snowflake Print Slipper Boots - £8
ASOS: Fairisle Gloves - £7

At this time of year there is nothing I like more than getting home from work and throwing on some comfy pyjamas and snuggling up with a cup of tea. I also particularly love the prints and patterns that appear on nightwear and accessories such as the above.

I'm really toying with the idea of getting a onesie, but I'm afraid I'm too short for them! The ones I've seen in store are absolutely huge in length, I think I'd need one from the children's section!

I love pyjama bottoms like the ones featured as they are not only perfect for pyjamas, but they're also great for just throwing on and wearing them around the house on a lazy Sunday.

I definitely know what I'm goint to be buying when I next take a trip to Matalan. Those pyjama trousers are going to be mine!

Jergens Cherry Almond Moisturiser

Jergens Cherry Almond Moisturiser
Boots:  Jergens Cherry Almond Moisturiser - £3.49*
Jergens Cherry Almond Moisturiser
Not long ago I reviewed the Jergens Cocoa Butter Moisturiser and it was an instant hit with me, so when I was asked if I would like to try the new Cherry-Almond version, I didn't hesitate.

It does smell rather amazing! Almonds mixed with cherries funnily enough, but I think perhaps a Cherry-only scent would be just a tad more delicious.

It's a very reasonably priced moisturiser for just £3.49 in Boots and it feels great on my skin. The scent lingers for a little while, which is something I really love after using a product.

This is a lovely long-lasting product. I'm not even half way through the first Cocoa Butter moisturiser I was sent, so it will be nice to alternate between the two for a little while.

Have you tried Jergen's new Cherry Almond moisturiser?

A foodie week in photos

Home-made Shepherds Pie! / Amazing hot chocolate / Baby Chino / Barry M Pink Sapphire / Bowl of tea! / McDonalds! / New rings and bracelet / Soap & Glory goodness / Bracelets

This week all I've done really is eat! Yesterday I had chinese for dinner, and the day before that a McDonalds and a KFC on the Thursday night, I am SUCH a pig!

Today I'm off to the opticians again to pick out some glasses! I thought I had better get my eyes checked out as I literally cannot see a thing when driving at night. My eyesight is way below the driving standard so it's a good job I went and had my eyes tested really. I need to pick out some frames, there were a few pairs that I liked but I need someone with me to help!

Later on today I am off to my friends house for her daughters 1st birthday party. It's weird having a friend with a baby, I literally had no clue what to buy for a present!

Yesterday I did a teeny tiny bit of shopping and just picked up a few bits. I've bought o much stuff that I haven't featured on the blog. I really want to start doing proper outfit photos, but I need to figure out where the best lighting is in my house.

This week has been a pretty good one as I had my six month review at work and was told I was no longer on my trial/probation six months, which is great! I feel so much more confident in my job now. One of my new year's resolutions was to get a 'proper' job so that's one thing that's now been ticked off my list.
