Fake Benefit Make-up!

Hopefully everyone has recovered from their street parties and Royal Wedding celebrations yesterday. The street party on the road next to ours apparently ended at 10pm but there was music going on until at least 4am. I wouldn't have minded if the music was any good but it was awful whirring, popping stuff with drum and bass, yuck. I managed to get to sleep, even though it sounded like the party was actually in our bedroom, so it didn't bother me too much in the end.

Anyway, onto the point of this post. I recently purchased two Benefit make-up products for a couple of pounds from eBay. Stupidly, I didn't check the seller feedback until I saw the Money Saving Expert Forums where somebody was talking about people on eBay selling cheap Benefit make-up.

I'm not quite sure why I brought these products, I did it on a bit of whim because they were so cheap and I don't have anything Benefit. Anyway, the Concealer arrived today and I don't know how to tell if it's fake or not, can anyone help?

It's really difficult to tell as I have never used any Benefit products before and I'm not sure what to look out for!

One thing I know is not fake is the new Duo Eyeshadow in 'Meteoric' I picked up yesterday from Topshop. The colours are absolutely gorgeous and I love the Marble effect! I've picked up an eye pencil and eyeliner in the past from Topshop make up but this is a lot more special.

I'll have to try and remember to post a pic of me wearing it soon!

I should have swapped the questions around and had this as my challenge for yesterday seeing as the entire world went Wedding crazy! I'm not one of those girls who has been planning her wedding since she was 6 so I don't really have a 'dream wedding' planned. I do however know that I'd like a simple dress (wasn't Kate's evening reception dress absolutely gorgeous?), a wedding cake that isn't sponge (Vince agrees!) and I definitely do not want a cheesy disco.

From attending other people's weddings, I have decided that I want to create some sort of playlist for the reception of all the songs I love and I definitely do not want any horrible YMCA or anything like that. If anyone actually comes to my wedding, there probably won't be many people on the dance floor as I love my rock music so most of the playlist would consist of my fave bands! I would probably include pop songs for everyone else but no cheesy 80s/90s songs. *Shudder*

I recently found these pics on my Dad's Facebook of my Nan and Grandad's wedding and just had to post them!

Fit for a McQueen!

So in years to come when someone asks me where I was when the Royal Wedding of William and Kate took place, I'll have to tell them I watched it from the comfort of my bed. What did everyone think?

I was obviously waiting for a glimpse of the dress, as were thousands of other fashion lovers. Last night people were going crazy on Twitter as Alexander McQueen Head Designer Sarah Burton was spotted going into Kate's hotel. Rumours started flying that the dress was going to be Vintage McQueen but I'm glad it was a new design as it's designed specifically for the bride, to suit her. The hand-embroidered and appliquéd lace dress looked amazing and imitated the one worn by Grace Kelly. I particularly loved the veil and the lace top and sleeves.

I couldn't believe the amount of people lining the streets of London just for a quick glimpse of the couple. The atmosphere must have been amazing! Were any of you there? I loved when they drove out of Buckingham Palace in the Aston Martin with the personalised Licence plate and L plate on the front, haha!

Vince and I headed into town this afternoon but most of the festivities had fizzled out already except the one going on on the road next to ours. It's rather loud!

Today's blog challenge was a pretty simple one and I'm glad we stocked the fridge today! Tomorrow we're planning to have salad and quiche for dinner so we stocked up in preperation.

Let's finish this the way we started it

Sorry to non Harry Potter fans...well, actually I'm not sorry, everyone should like Harry Potter! The new trailer was released late last night so I got to see it this morning and I literally cannot wait for this film. This time around I am 100% going to the cinema to see it instead of waiting for the DVD, I am going to drag Vince with me if it kills me! Obviously as I've read the book I know what happens but I'll still be shocked and surprised when I'm watching the film! I'm definitely not watching it in 3D though, wearing stupid glasses through out will just annoy me!

Today has been a bit of a hectic day. I've had such a busy week working just two days, haha! Today I had a doctors appointment about my Rhinitis which I've mentioned recently. Anyway I explained the whole story and how it feels like it's getting worse etc etc. It's annoying how doctors don't seem to listen to you. They just type away on your computer...she actually asked me what I was expecting from my visit to the doctors...erm, a cure? Some stronger tablets obviously? Some help? Anyway, she gave me stronger tablets and a stronger nasal spray so hopefully they will help. I also ordered a Light Therapy device that is supposed to help with Allergic Rhinitis and can be used alongside medication. It was £35 from Amazon and should hopefully arrive soon so I'll let you know how I get on. I'm sure I'll feel like a right idiot with two mini light-sabers up my nose.

Is everyone looking forward to the Royal Wedding tomorrow? To celebrate, I've created a little nail art! I couldn't be bothered to do all my fingers so settled with just one, that was hard enough. I used Nails Inc Limited Edition polish in 'Kate' as well as 'Hampstead Heath' and 'Denim'. I also used my white Barry M which is disgusting now, I need to throw it away and replace it! It's so stringy and gross!

As I mentioned last night, Vince had a gig, which he says went very well. He actually came back after the sound check and made us both some dinner as the venue is quite near by. He has another gig tonight but probably won't be back until late tonight, so I've got a lovely Tomato Soup ad Crusty Bread waiting for me for dinner as well as lots of great TV! I don't have much planned for the weekend, maybe some shopping in town and lots of cleaning the house, joy!

Today's Blog Challenge is sort of in honour Vince as the challenge is to post a picture of someone I fancy right now. So you can all enjoy some lovely pics of my boyfriend! We'll be celebrating three years together this June!

Not like the Movies...

I can't believe that I only have to work tomorrow and then have another 4 days off! How great is that? The whole country is going insane about the Royal Wedding at the moment. There are some street parties going on here in Southampton, in particular, one big one at the Guildhall Square in town. I do want to go but I know we won't wake up until late and by the tie we're ready, we probably would have missed most of it! I'm definitely watching the wedding on TV though, just so I can see what Kate's dress is like to be honest. This is our generation's Charles & Diana and it's going to be an historic occasion, remembered for years so people really should take a little interest!

In other news, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to try and sort out my Rhinitis problems. Thankfully it didn't bother me today so I had a relatively sneeze free day. A guy at work told me about his sister who suffers from the same condition, and she uses something called light therapy, so I'm definitely going to research that and see if it will help me at all.

When I got home from work I had two lovely parcels waiting for me! A MAC eyeliner and a mini Katy Perry OPI nail polish collection, both of which I ordered from eBay, so I'll take some pics of those soon! During my lunch break I had a cheeky browse around Boots and picked up some fake nails and a new Maybelline polish, which I'll also review soon!

Vince has left me alone tonight as he has a gig to play with his new band. It's weird being on my own for the whole evening, it means I actually have to cook for myself, haha! Vince makes the best food so cooks for me most nights and I love him for it of course! So I'll be pretty lonely tonight but it gives me a chance to get lots of work done!

Now for today's challenge. This is a pretty simple one actually and thankfully as there's quite a few photos of me I can steal from Facebook, so here we go...

01 – A photo of you, taken today.
02 – Your favourite pair of shoes.
03 – A photograph of your mobile phone.

29 – The place you want to live.
30 – A photograph of yourself taken today + three good things that have happened in the past 30 days

Hopefully over the weekend I'll be able to get some more productive posts lined up for you all. In the mean time, I'd love to know what sort of posts you want to see, is there anything you want to request at all?

P.S - The new Harry Potter trailer for Part 2 of Deathly Hallows is released tonight. Can NOT wait!

Sniffle

Today was supposed to be my first day back at work after the glorious bank holidays but instead I worked from home. I'm sure I've mentioned this before but I have something called Allergic Rhintis which is like Asthma in your nose. Not that already having Asthma isn't bad enough but now I have it in my nose as well! Anyway, I have tablets for it that seem to keep it at bay but recently I've been sneezing loads and it was so bad on Thursday that I had to leave work early. It gets so bad that I have to breath through my mouth, I can't hear anything and my sinuses are so blocked up that it feels like my head is going to explode, so this was my reason for staying home today.

I'm actually getting really sick of it but apparently there is no cure. Typical. All of the tablets the doctors have given me haven't worked so I'm heading back on Thursday to try and get it sorted! So I've had a pretty lazy day to be honest. I did venture into town to pick up some more tablets and finally showed off my new H&M skirt. Although you can't really see the skirt in the pic, you can see my H&M striped top and Matalan belt!

It still feels weird showing my legs off and I definitely need to buy some more skirts. I'm currently waiting on some studs that I ordered from eBay for my DIY shorts and then I can finally show you them!

I love Fearne Cotton's new hairstyle! Though, I don't think I'm brave enough to get it for myself. My hair is mid-way down my back in length at the moment so it'd be a bit of a change and I'm probably way too lazy to do lots of different styles like Fearne does, or has Stylists do. Though it would be nice to have a bit more volume in my hair as mine is so limp and lifeless! Plus, I'm not sure it would even suit me!! What do you think?

Lush Summer Pudding Review

Lush is a place that literally everybody raves about and I'm definitely a big fan of their products. I recently went into my local Lush store and picked up some goodies as part of my sister's Birthday Present. Unfortunately I didn't buy anything for myself but the lady did give me a free sample of their Summer Pudding soap!

I only got a small piece but it really lasts. It contains an almond scrub that is soft and doesn't irritate the skin thanks to the softening almond and cleansing lemon oils. The soap itself is really creamy and has a gorgeous fruity, citrus fragrance and really does represent Summer. After washing it off, my skin does feel a bit clammy under the water but once I'm all dry my skin is left feeling really smooth and I can still smell the soap hours after using it.

I only got a small free sample but for an average slice of the soap, it will cost you £3.10, which I think is very reasonable as it lasts quite a long time. You can buy it Online at Lush.co.uk

It's a Bank Holiday so I'm not working today, which also means I've been doing nothing but pottering around the house and writing on my laptop. I do apologise at the boring subject of these 'Day In The Life' photos but I am following the challenge rules no matter what!!

The day started with a much needed cup of tea and Hot Cross Buns with Jam for breakfast! I also made Vince a lovely healthy Bacon and Egg sandwich for his breakfast but forgot to get a pic before he gobbled it all down.

Other than pampering myself with my GHD Shampoo & Conditioner, Lush Summer Pudding Soap, Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub and 'Feel The Knead' massager, I've pretty much spent all day watching FRIENDS Wedding specials on E4 and writing up bits and pieces for the various sites I write for.

I'm currently waiting for Vince to go out and get me McDonalds for dinner! We do love the new Monopoly games on the McDonalds meals, how sad eh? I'm back to work tomorrow for three days. It almost seems pointless really doesn't it? I'll try and keep the challenge going!

Happy Easter!

I know there are probably a thousand Easter related posts but everyone likes Chocolate...and we also love blogging about it! I don't really get Easter Eggs anymore because apparently I'm too old...just not too old to eat it on the 364 other days of the year. This is the first Easter I have spent away from home so I had to be the Easter bunny for myself and Vince. This morning I surprised him with a Milky Way and Dairy Milk egg as well as a Milky Bar and Dairy Milk egg for myself!

He's gone to his coursemates house today to work on their dissertation but he should hopefully be back in time for a chicken en croute dinner! Yum!

Now, onto Day 4 of the 30 Day Blog Challenge! The challenge today is to post a photograph of myself from two years ago...

These photos aren't quite two years old exactly, but will be in August! I went to Devon with Vince and our friends for a few days, so here are a few pics! I also managed to find a few others from 2009 including one from the Joiners venue in Southampton and a few from my trip to London with Vince and the odd one of us cooking in the kitchen!

I can't believe how much my hair has grown since 2009! At the moment it's in the middle of my back and desperately needs cutting, or just tidying up really! Anyway, I hope everyone has a great Easter and you make yourselves sick on chocolate!

Feeling hot hot hot!

Wow is it hot. I don't know where you lot are but here in Southampton it is ridiculously hot. My phone says it is currently 24 degrees and I'm sat in my bedroom!

Last week I picked up some shorts in Matalan as I couldn't bare to wear my jeans any longer. If you know me, you'll know that I'm pretty petrified of baring my legs...I can't explain it but I have such a lack of confidence that for years I couldn't step out of the house with my legs on show, which is why summer after summer, I've stayed in jeans. Well I finally had enough. I feel much more confident about myself and decided to buy the shorts on a whim and force myself to wear them. Well, I'm so glad I did because I love them and I no longer feel self confidence about showing my legs off, even if they are incredibly pasty!

I bravely ventured into town today. I had to exchange a few things and pick up a few bits and pieces. I picked up this gorgeous rabbit ring from Matalan as well as some cute earrings.

I'm not normally one for wearing rings but I'm slowly building a little collection. I recently purchased a gorgeous Owl ring from BohoBoho.com. They have a great range of products and they're all really cheap. This Owl ring was just £4!

I also picked up the new Hand Maid Antibacterial Gel from Soap & Glory as well as some Garnier Summer Body Moisturising Lotion, that has a hint of tan in, some Veet Hair Removal Cream (to make sure my legs are silky smooth of course!) and some absolutely gorgeous Champagne smelling Bubble Bath from Asda. I recently spotted their cute range of bath and shower products, they've got loads of gorgeous stuff, I particularly want to get my hands on their sugar scrubs and body lotions! The products are cheap and cheerful but probably do just as good a job as the more expensive stuff!

I was actually planning on looking for a Petite Maxi dress but I was so hot and bothered that I came home! The Sun makes me so sleepy and I knew that I had to pick up some food shopping so thought I better get that over and done with.

Now onto the 30 Day Blog Challenge...I'm really enjoying it at the moment as it's making me post every day and think hard about what to write about my day. Hopefully you're all finding it somewhat interesting! Today's post is...

My phone is a HTC Wildfire. I only got it because my boyfriend found a deal Online where it came with a free Playstation 3. So the contract is in his name, but the phone is all mine! I was a little disappointed that things like the Angry Birds App is too big to work on the phone but other than that I really like it. :)

Hope everyone has a good Easter tomorrow. I don't think I'm doing anything special, Vince has a deadline on Tuesday so he'll probably be doing work, leaving me to potter around the house. :)

Happy Easter!
