Trends I'm currently loving: Peplums

Topshop: Peplum Heart Back Dress - £55, Peplum Tunic - £26
New Look: Inspire Black Scuba Peplum Top - £19.99
Dorothy Perkins: Bird Print Peplum Top - £27
Matalan: Floral Print Peplum Top - £14
Miss Selridge: Cream Lace Peplum Top - £32

Peplums are everywhere right now. I love how they bring a flirty and girly edge to any top, skirt or dress and they're one of my favourite trends right now.

The peplum adds a little bit of volume and the illusion of curves to any outfit. The peplum top looks great with a slick pencil skirt for a real smart outfit.

Dropped peplum hems are also pretty popular as seen above in the Coral dress. While this style doesn't really suit me personally it does look great on other people. I much prefer peplum tops as they make me feel a tiny bit more glamorous than usual and give a subtle nod to the 1960s.

What do you think of the peplum trend?

Trends I'm currently loving: Stripes

Trends I'm currently loving
Motel: Skinny Jordan Jeans - £48
Missguided: Darine Monochrome Stripe Leggings - £9.99
Topshop: RARE Stripe Pocket Top - £36, Stripe Mini Bodycon Skirt - £25, Striped Pencil Skirt - £28, MOTO High Waisted Stripe Shorts £32
ASOS: ALDO Orear Stripe Bag - £35

I have always loved stripes and despite them being the 'trend' every Spring/Summer, I wear them all year round. At the moment I'm loving the different coloured stripes that have come out, as opposed to the usual nautical style blue/navy and white.

I'm loving the stripey shorts and skirts from Topshop and am definitely going to be trying to work something similar into my own wardrobe, but perhaps at a cheaper price. In particular, black and white stripes are huge right now but I'm not so sure I could pull of some jeans or leggings. I'm only used to wearing stripes as a top or a dress!

I tend to pair anything stripey with something plain. For instance I wear most of my striped tops with plain skinny jeans or a plain skirt. I always think it's better to play it safe instead of mixing up another pattern in there as well.

What do you all think of stripes? In particular, the new Beetlejuice stripe trend?

Wishing on a star

There's a trend brewing. Have you spotted it yet? Maybe the clue in the title will help you out.

Above is Dolce & Gabbanna's Fall 2011 collection and they have really started a trend for Star print this season. Above are a range of dresses from the collection that are covered in the print but the designers have also opted for star patterned trousers, jackets, skirts. You name it, they've put stars on it.

As you'd expect, quite a few celebs have also been spotted wearing the trend on the red-carpet including Olivia Wilde, Jessica Alba, Rose McGowan and Fergie, and it's even started filtering through into the high-street so the general public such as you and me can wear it too!

What do you think of these looks? I'm not too keen on Fergie's bright yellow and black but I love Olivia Wilde's star print body-con dress and sleek hair.

I've managed to scoop out some star print on the British high-street just incase you wanted to get in on the trend yourselves! I think I could get on board with it but it's difficult not to go over the top.

Peter Pan!

No, this post isn't about the little pixie-like boy from the Disney films...it's about my favourite trend of the moment...the Peter Pan collar!

About 3 years ago, I had a Peter Pan collar top that I once dared to wear to work, but never wore again. Now I'm seeing the trend all over the place...does this mean I started a trend? (I doubt it)

Anyway, I've been spotting some lovely Peter Pan collar dresses on the high street recently. I previously had my eye on a black Topshop creation but have found a much nicer alternative on ASOS.com, which is £4 cheaper!

I've put together an outfit from ASOS that is possibly going on my wish/Christmas list!

It starts with this beauty...

It's not normally a colour I'd go for as I'd usually opt for black, but as I'd team it with black tights and boots, I thought I should add a little colour otherwise I'd look like I was going to a funeral. Plus £24 is a little bargain I think.

As I browsed the ASOS website, I knew I was looking for a pair of black tights. Simple, boring, but I came across these lovelies which ticked the black tights box but also give a bit of interest to the outfit, in my opinion!

Now for the best bit of the outfit...the shoes! Wedges are massive at the moment so I'd probably opt for something suitable for the winter, such as these gorgeous shearling winter wedges!

These wonders are £55 which is pretty reasonable, but with my lack of cash and the current length of my Christmas list, I probably won't be getting these until they are way out of date, boo!

So these are the latest additions to my wishlist, what do you guys think? I realise the majority of posts recently have been wishlist posts, but they are becoming my favourite thing to write recently, and seeing as I'm not up to much else, they're better than no post at all!

Hopefully this ASOS discount will help towards these items finally becoming mine! I might email it over to mother!
