Seventeen Cosmetics Cheek Stamp Blush

It's not often I pick up a new blusher but this actually came as a free gift for spending more than £5 on other Seventeen products. I thought it was extremely cute and not like any other blushers I've seen on the high street before so I thought I'd give it a try.

The packaging is really interesting, the little mirrored pot contains the blush packed into its lid and a sponge stamp applicator on the opposite end. You simply press the sponge into the blush and stamp away at your cheeks - luckily this doesn't produce bold pink circles on your cheeks like some kind of circus clown, it just distributes a faint touch of colour, which can be blended in as you see fit. I picked up the lightest shade 'Blushing' but there is a range of shades right up to a darker, almost bronze colour.

For £4.99 this is pretty reasonable. If it wasn't a free gift it might have been something I'd have paid for anyway if I was in need of a new blush just because it's so sweet. It's great for keeping in your handbag and reapplying through the day and it's very convenient too as you simply twist the spring loaded lid and go about your application. There's no mess, no fall out and no need for brushes.

Yet another gorgeous parcel from Makeup Revolution arrived last week and I couldn't wait to rip into it and see what I had been sent. The Ultra Blush Palette Golder Sugar really stood out amongst everything I was sent, just because the blushes are so absolutely beautiful. I almost didn't want to swatch them for fear of ruining the marbled effect but hey, it's got to be done!

Although Makeup Revolution is a bit of a budget brand, I really think its products are right up there with the big hitters on the highstreet. You don't see a palette this gorgeous from the likes of L'Oreal/Maybelline etc. The brand is on top form and the palette itself looks so much more expensive than £6. It is such a bargain and would make a fab Christmas gift or stocking filler.

The palette itself is full of the most amazing collection of bronzers, merged blushers, a baked bronzer and 2 merged baked highlighters. Wow. They all come in a super gorgeous marbled pattern and are lovely and soft to apply. They're very subtle once on the skin and have a hint of shimmer.

I just can't get over how gorgeous this palette is. It's such a shame I don't get dressed up very often because this is perfect for the party season.

I can't get over the amount of new releases Makeup Revolution have been making recently. There seems to be a new parcel that drops through my letterbox every week, not that I'm complaining. Far from it. I'm really enjoying seeing all of the new products and reading everyone's thoughts on them. It's also great seeing the brand go from strength to strength.

The new 'The One' blush sticks are said to be dupes for the NARS Multiple, which I have to admit, is not something I've tried so I can't really compare but I know which one my purse would prefer. The Makeup Revolution blush sticks come in at just £5 each, which is so reasonable. You could buy six different colours for the price of one of the NARS Multiples. Wow.

The range is made up of four sheer and four matte shades so there's pretty much something for every occasion. The lightest nude colours are perfect for highlighting, while the pinks will add a lovely hint of colour. The brown/bronze shades can be used to contour too. Each shade is lovely and creamy and pigmented and they're all super blendable.

While I probably wouldn't use the darker/bronze shades the nude and pink shades are definitely for me. My particular favourite is Dream, which is a super soft pink colour, perfect for highlighting. I also think Pink compliments it perfectly.

There was a teeny niggle that I had with these products and that was that when I opened them up the blushes seemed to be stuck within the lids. I'm not sure if this was just mine but it was a bit of a faff getting them out and putting them back into the tubes. As you can see it was a bit of a messy business to do so as well. The lids are also a bit tricky to get on without digging into the blush as they don't (at least mine don't) twist all the way down and there's a little bit of product still sticking out of the top.

That couldn't possibly put me off though and I'd really recommend the range to anyone, even to people like me who aren't too confident with things like blushers. As I mentioned, there's a shade for pretty much every occasion, whether it's day time or party time. I'll definitely be making a few of the shades part of my everyday make-up bag.

Have you tried any of the new blush sticks from Makeup Revolution? Let me know your thoughts on them in the comments.

I Love Makeup: Blushing Hearts Blusher

I must admit I am not a blusher type of girl. I rarely use it but I absolutely could not resist the gorgeousness that is the I Love Makeup Blushing Hearts blush. I Love Makeup is the sister brand of Makeup Revolution, which has been kicking up a real fuss in the blogging community recently. Not only are the brains behind Makeup Revolution running on overtime and doing brilliant things, but they've also been able to fit in launching a completely new sub-brand as well, which contains even more amazing, affordable products. It's mind boggling really.

Anyway, back to the blush. To put it bluntly, it's perfect. Not only is the packaging top notch but the 'baked' look is so popular right now, everyone's doing it and this just works so well.

The ombre style of the blushes mean you can use them individually or blend them together. I chose to blend them up and apply to get a not too subtle but not too dramatic look. I must admit in the photos above I've applied a bit more than I usually would as I was afraid the camera wouldn't pick up the colour (I've never photographed a blusher before!!) but as you can see it has come out ok. Each shade can be used depending on the amount of 'pow' you want in your look. The lighter shade would be perfect for every day and the rest are great for a night out or special occasion. There's actually six different shades/products in the heart blush line so there should be something to suit everyone.

Someone on Twitter pointed out that the blushers are a dupe for the Too Faced Sweetheart Blush. It is VERY similar, from the baked/ombre style right down the to heart shaped cardboard packaging but what really seperates this from Too Faced is the price tag. This is much more purse friendly and up my street. I personally probably wouldn't pay any more than £15 for a blush and this one from I Love Makeup is just £4.99. Amazing.

As I mentioned the blush comes in cardboard packaging, which is a little chunky. Before taking the photos for this post I actually dropped the blusher and it broke so I wouldn't say the packaging is very protective so be careful! I wouldn't recommend this for popping in your handbag or taking around with you as it could get a bit squished, but it's perfect for sitting on your dressing table and using in the morning.

Have you given I Love Makeup a try yet? What are your thoughts? I am personally fully converted to being a regular blusher wearer!
