Having been around since the 1990s, it is about time Kill Hannah received some recognition, and despite the Wedgewood Rooms only being half full, those that showed up were a dedicated bunch to say the least.
Launching themselves into the arms of support acts The Lost Souls Club and My Passion, the crowd were well warmed up for Kill Hannah, who brought a brand of rock music so heavily inspired by The Cure that you'd be mistaken for thinking that Robert Smith's love-child was on stage.
The audience had clearly been with the band since their early days as they sang along poetically to the band's romantically-tinged tracks including Humming Birds The Size Of Bullets and Kennedy.
But it was tracks from their most recent albums Until There's Nothing Left Of Us and Wake Up The Sleepers that brought joy and emotion to frontman Mat Devine, who pointed this out throughout the show.
It was clear that Kill Hannah enjoyed their time on stage, and it didn't matter that the venue wasn't completely sold out as they played like their audience was the most important thing at that moment, the real key to the success of this gig.
