I have been getting on very well with the Benefit products, which I was really surprised about as I thought they wouldn't possibly create a decent skincare range. The new Sized to Go collection from MAC is perfect for someone like me who likes to try things out for a few months before changing it up and using something different, buying a travel sized product means I won't waste money on a full size one that will probably sit on the shelf half empty for the rest of the year.

On a bit of a whim I ordered the Strobe Cream and Green Gel Cleanser.
The Green Gel Cleanser promises to condition, nourish and hydrate skin, leaving it clean and protected. When the cleanser was on my face it became quite thick and sunk in very quickly. Weirdly, it was hard to rub in to my skin and wasn't smooth and foamy like my usual cleansers. It left my skin feeling quite tingly and the skin felt a bit tight after use. After a few days use the cleanser has left my skin very red after use as I do have very sensitive skin. I think the product is perhaps a bit too harsh for me, which is a shame!

The Strobe Cream is a quick fix for skin which promises to de-stress, moisten and freshen up skin to stop it looking dull, tired and flat. For 30ml, this one was a little more expensive at £12.
The cream was really soft and easy to apply and it even has a hint of shimmer to it. Again, my skin felt a little tight afterwards, but not as much as I was expecting and it did disappear after 5 minutes. My skin did feel a little fresher after application and I kind of like the hint of shimmer to it but am worried it could be mistaken for oily skin? I think it would work well under/over foundation as it is supposed to pick up light and make you look vibrant.

When I originally started this post the products were working nicely for me, but after only a few days they became too harsh for my skin. It's a real shame but trying and testing products is the only way to find out what really works! It might not have worked for me but it may just work for someone else which is why I'm selling these two products on my Blog sale!
I bought the same things last week, I really like the strobe cream, I don't use it as a moisturiser though, I use it as a highlighter :-)
ReplyDeletegreat review. I probably won't be using those products as I too have sensitive skin Thanks for the heads-up... (and yep, I do need to get a good skincare regime in place!!)

Such a shame about the product but atleast you got a smaller sized one and saved some money. I use boots botanics range, my skin is sensitive and can easily become red and blemish prone. I think they have a 3 for one at the moment too!
ReplyDeleteI have sensitive skin so than you for the review x
ReplyDeleteLove the small sized bottles. That stinks that they were too harsh on your skin. That happens to me with most products because I have super sensitive skin. Great post.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by Fash Boulevard and for your sweet comment. Maddox is doing so much better now! :)
