Now onto the blog post...
I couldn't resist picking up the August 2011 issue of InStyle magazine for the freebie Body Shop eye definer pencils. In my book, you can never have too many eye-liners and seeing as my current Seophora liner is ultra tiny, it's about time I had a new one!
Other issues of the mag come with a freebie Mascara but I didn't really fancy that. Instead I opted for the eye-liners, of which you get two! One in traditional Black and the other in French Navy.
For freebies, these aren't too bad, and for £8 on the Body Shop website, it's still quite a bargain. I don't usually use a blue eye liner but I think I could get used to it.
Both look nice and dark when swatched on my hand but once applied, they lose a little of their boldness. On the waterline, they get wiped away after a few blinks but as a thin line on the eye-lid, they do look pretty good.
Many eye-liners tend to get stuck in the bottom lashes and you can definitely see that in the pics. Although they aren't as bold on the water line, I don't think they would come off completely, though you may want to re-apply through out the day!

Would you believe I'm not wearing any mascara? It certainly looks like it in the last pic, weird. I would have to say I'm a little disappointed that the liners wipe off so easily. I've never tried Body Shop make-up so I'm not sure how good it is but it really annoys me when a liner doesn't stay on. The blue seems better than the black so I might make use of this one a bit more!
Just a quick shameless plug before I go. If you fancy joining Cherry Pie over on Facebook, that'd be grand! Once I reach 25 'fans' I may just hold a little Facebook only giveaway!
Too bad they're not lasting that much, cause they look really good. I have a blue one myself and I really like the color, but it's a different brand.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy them, though :)
i would buy that mag for the eye pencils too! now following you on FB!

ReplyDeleteNice colour! I picked up this magazine when someone else finished it and left it on a train, so no freebie for me but a not bad read for free!
ReplyDeleteThe both look really pretty on you. I would definitely buy the magazine for the free eye pencils.

I yet have to find an eyeliner that is truly waterproof when I use it on my waterline x=
ReplyDeleteI never manage to get my eyeliner to stay on very well, especially in the summer when I get hayfever, I don't even bother with mascara. I might have to get this magazine though as I could do with some new eyeliner
ReplyDeleteit's a shame about them not lasting. i've tried a few bodyshop cosmetics and from what I can tell its very mixed. some of their things are amazing while others are just a waste of money really!! x
ReplyDeleteHave heard great things baout these products, thanks for sharing.
