So last week I attended my first proper blogging event in years. I was very kindly invited by the lovely people at Lush to their store in Cribbs Causeway to learn more about the new sun care range and their products in general. I was quite nervous to be honest because it's been so long since I've been to anything like this. Events are usually in London on a week day and so I can never go but I managed to book the afternoon off for this one as it is really not far away at all for me. Bonus!
I was really interested to learn more about Lush's fresh face masks and watch how they're made too. Lush only uses fresh fruit and vegetables in their products and the face mask range contains lots of lovely fresh ingredients including blueberries. We watched how the Catastrophe Cosmetic mask was made, which was really interesting. I also got to take a pot home with me and have since used it. I can report back that it is really lovely, although a bit weird to see bits of blueberries on your face! I'll be dedicating a whole post to it soon.
We also got to learn about Lush's new sun care range and I have to say I really need to get my hands on the new Sunblock Solid Sunscreen Wash. It is just a fab, fab product and having recently been very badly sunburnt it's definitely something I could do with.
It acts much like a bar of soap in that you use it in the shower and scrub it all over yourself and rinse off. You'll then be covered head to toe with SPF 30. For someone like me who forgets to put suncream on this is genius as you can introduce it as part of your regular shower routine and will no longer even need to think about it!
I was also really impressed with Lush's range of haircare, which I'd not discovered before. I had a chat with one of the staff about how my hair is always flat and I'm always searching for more volume and so they tried the Sea Spray on my roots and I was so impressed! I am definitely going to be purchasing it along with the No Drought dry shampoo, which is another I was super impressed with. I left the event with really volumised hair!
I also left smelling like half of the shop, which isn't necessarily a bad thing! I had so many products tested out on me including a lipstick, which weirdly I liked… Overall I really enjoyed myself and I'm really glad I attended, but I wish I had chatted to the other bloggers more and got to know them a bit better. I'm still a bit shy when it comes to these things.
Not only was this an opportunity to get behind the scenes in a Lush shop but I also learnt a huge amount about its products and there are loads of things I want to purchase. It was really lovely to try lots of different things out and it was something a bit different for a Friday afternoon. I can't wait until the next one!
Check out the Cherry Pie Facebook page for more photos from the event.
So many amazing things at Lush - this looks like it was a great event! x
