The Sunday Catch Up #29

This week was a four and a half day week for me as I had something a bit exciting planned for Friday afternoon! I attended my first blogging event in years! Yay!

The event took place at Lush in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol and it was basically to introduce bloggers to the new sun care range and have a bit of fun making fresh face masks and learning more about the products. I was looking forward to it all week and I had booked the afternoon off so Vince and I could have something to eat beforehand. As you can see we enjoyed a tasty Wagamamas! Poor Vince had to wait around for me for two hours while the event was going on but he ended up buying a new camera lens while he was at it! The event itself was really good and it was really interesting to learn all about the new products. It was also a great chance to have a good old nosy at all of the products on the shelves without other shoppers flocking around.

I'll be dedicating a whole post to the event this week so keep an eye out for that one! Yesterday was a really busy day as I spent it cleaning caravans. My dad works for a caravan hire company and they were looking for some people to help with the changeover day and so I spent the whole day cleaning the things. Most of them weren't really that dirty to be honest, just needed a wipe over etc, much better than I was expecting!

Today I had a pretty relaxed day, I got up pretty early for a Sunday and mosied on down to Boots. I bought a few little bits and spotted the new Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream perfume….uh oh! I very nearly bought it but managed to restrain myself. I did spray it on myself and I have to be honest, I think the limited edition Honey scent is much nicer. I think I just like the Daisy Dream bottle…and not the scent so much, shock horror! Saves me £50 I suppose!

I spent a nice afternoon at my mums with Daisy and Oscar and we had a lovely trip the park. Now I'm getting on with some blogging along with cleaning, what a way to spend the last hours of my weekend!

How has your week and weekend been? Anything special planned for the upcoming week?

Finally I am using a brand of nail polish that isn't Barry M. I feel like I've been sticking with the same brands for a while and need to change things up a bit and give some other names a go. I saw a tweet from The Lacquer Lab asking if anyone would like to try the new range and of course I quickly piped up!

I received a few polishes from the new Marrakech Collection, which takes inspiration from Morrocco, so at least my finger nails can feel like they're having a bit of holiday sunshine even if I'm not! I received Snake Charmer, which is a prime blue colour inspired by the vibrant coloured doors that guard the main palatial Riads of Marrakech. It's a gorgeous shade and the perfect summer bright.

Karma Sutra is the gorgeous vibrant fuchsia shade, which is inspired by Morocco's famous 'Valley of the Roses'. Yet another lovely bright for summer with a hint of pink.

The third polish, and possibly my favourite, is Fountain of Youth, which is a lovely aqua shade that can be built up or used as a top coat like I have done so above. It contains mini gold glitter particles, which dazzle in the light.

This is a fab little set and would make a lovely little pressie for someone. The polishes themselves are really creamy and like velvet to apply. What's even better is that they dry really quickly and you don't need to apply lots of coats either. They last an absolute age, passing every nail polish test I put them through such as the washing up test and the cleaning the bathroom test.

Each polish is £7, which is a tad more expensive than the usual polishes you get on the highstreet, but you get much more product for your money. The entire collection, which actually contains five colours in total, retails for £29, which is on par with other nail brand's sets.

I would definitely recommend trying these out. They're a joy to apply and the collection really captures the spirit of Morocco.

Another day, another delivery from Makeup Revolution. This brand are really looking after their bloggers with lots of lovely packages full of makeup goodies. Two weeks or so ago I received a package containing yet more new releases from its sub-brand I Heart Makeup and yet again I was more than impressed.

The new range contains a gorgeous chocolatey bronzer called Go Bronzer Chocolate Heaven*, which looks good enough to eat and is a joy to apply. For me, someone who is a bit scared of bronzer and hasn't ever used one before, this gave a really lovely colour to a full face of make-up. Usually I'm so deathly pale so this really helps.

I Heart Definition* in 'fair' is another gorgeous little compact. It's got your three neccessities…bronzer, blusher and highlighter. I'm hoping to do a dedicated post on this one because I love the blusher so much that I want to show it off properly. For a fiver you can't really go wrong with this.

The I am in Love palette* is another beauty must have, keeping everything you need close by and compact. This contains some really natural eyeshadow shades, that absolutely anyone can wear. It also includes a lipstick! This particular one comes in a really pretty shade of pink, which I am definitely going to try out and that is a big thing for someone like me who never wears lipstick!!

What can I say? Makeup Revolution has stolen the show again. I will hopefully be dedicating posts to everything featured here so you can get a better, indepth review but so far I'm loving everything!
