Wednesday Wishlist #96

Wednesday Wishlist
New Look: Dark Green Chiffon Belted Sleeveless Dress - £19.99, Black Ditsy Floral Print Cap Sleeve Skater Dress - £17.99, Navy and Green Check Side Split Mini Skirt - £17.99
Topshop: Spot Print Lace Black Playsuit - £48, Maude Playsuit - £45.

I'm pretty sure I've ranted about Topshop prices before and no matter how gorgeous these playsuits are I would not pay almost £50 for one. That is absolutely ludicrous! There used to be a time when I would and that time was before rent, bills and food shopping. £50 would get me a good few weeks worth of food!

They're so very pretty but they'll stay firmly on the wishlist forever I expect. New Look's prices are a little more reasonable and I love their 'new in' section as it's full of autumn-inspired gorgeousness. I'm loving the green/navy colours and dark florals and especially the check print too.

I feel as if I'm in definite need of a shopping trip. I'm getting stuck in a jeans and a top rut again and it's annoying. I need to start branching out a little bit and exploring different things! I love a good playsuit and in the autumn/winter they look great with a pair of black tights and ankle boots. I got myself some ankle boots recently and I just love them so I need to put together some outfit inspiration!

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

I think I might have found a new favourite foundation! Hooray! I don't really know why I bought this to be honest, I was just in Boots and I was bored so was just buying things for the sake of it I think. Anyway, out of my boredom came this brand new foundation and I have to say I'm a big fan.

I don't know if you remember but quite a few years ago Rimmel bought out a Stay Matte foundation that was in a nude coloured tube (a quick google search and you'll find it) and I was a big fan of it then. I'm not sure if this is some revamped new version or if it's a completely different formula but what I do know is it gives great, matte coverage.

First of all I love the updated, purple/white tube/bottle or whatever you want to call it. When I was in the shop I wasn't actually too sure about the shade as it was coming out pretty orange on my hand, under the awful lighting, but as it was an Ivory shade I thought I'd try it anyway and see what it was like in natural light. I'm really pleased I did because the lighting in the shop absolutely did it not justice at all. I really think places like Boots should re-evaluate the lighting they have as it really messes with the look of products... but that's a rant for another blog post.

The foundation is exactly like a mousse. It has the same consistency as a chocolate mousse you'd eat from a yogurt pot or something. It's thick, bubbly and airy and it applies like a dream. I use a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, which really helps work it into the skin. The matte finish is great for skin like mine as it glides over imperfections and impurities instead of liquid or powder foundations which seem to sink into the skin and shows off every dry bit.

It's got a nice scent to it too. I'm not sure if this is on purpose but some foundations can smell really awful. Luckily this one is ok. I found that you don't really need much foundation at all, which means it will last absolutely ages. I was quite happy with the coverage, which is a good light to medium. It doesn't feel thick and cakey on your skin like a lot of others and it lasts a good long while too.

For £5.99 it's really worth purchasing!

Have you tried the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation yet?

A good post week in photos

New You Beauty box / Random stuffed pepper starter! / New MUA palettes / Love Me Beauty box / Box contents / One for my mum? / Finally have the Elasticizer!

So, this week has been a good post week. As you can see I received a few lovely packages this week, all very exciting. I decided to try out two new beauty boxes this week and I have to say I'm quite impressed with both. I actually received two of the You Beauty boxes so one of them went to a good home with my sister. I'm really keen to try our the Elasticizer but it's a bit inconvenient that you have to keep it on for 10 to 20 minutes. I'll see how that goes.

One of the boxes contains a collagen drink, which I find a little weird. I'm not quite sure if I want to drink it or not. Who knows what it could be!!

This week I also received the MUA palettes that I ordered. They took quite a few days to arrive and then when they did I missed the post so had to pick them up from the delivery office. I ordered the new matte and smokin palettes and both look really lovely and contain shades that are very me! I can't wait to try them out.

The random stuffed pepper image is a clue to what else I've been up to this week. I didn't mean to photograph all lovely beauty boxes and then a stuffed pepper, it just sort of happened. On Thursday night Vince and I went out with our friends for an Indian and the starter was absolutely delish! The pepper was stuffed with minced lamb and was so yummy that I was really full up afterwards and could barely eat any of my main course.

My friend and I asked for the rest of our mains to be boxed up so we could take them home with us and the idiot waiter only went and put them both in the same box. Two different currys. Idiot! He was really miserable on the night so I think he did it on purpose! Other than that it was a good night and the food was scrummy.

This week coming I'm only working four out of five days as I've booked Friday off. There's no real reason other than I fancied booking it. It's my birthday in exactly one week today so thought I'd have a nice long weekend!

What have you been up to this week?
