Wednesday Wishlist #98

I've gone all designer for this weeks Wednesday Wishlist. Can you believe I'm on number 98 already, I'll have to find something really special for number 100!

Have you ever worn a designer dress? Unfortunately I haven't but a girl can dream so this week I'm doing exactly that and featuring lots of lovely, lovely designer dresses. Gorgeous.

I'm not usually one for wearing dresses. I have a few, which I go to when it's unbelievably hot and I can't bear jeans any longer or I have some that I wear specifically in the autumn/winter with tights and boots.

After looking at what I've picked I've noticed a particularly plain theme. I'm gone very little black dress but I think sticking to something simple and elegant is probably the best way to go. My favourite has got to be the Alice and Olivia dress with studded shoulder detailing, absolutely gorgeous!

There's so many brands to choose from that I couldn't possibly fit them all into one wishlist. I was pleasantly surprised to come across dresses from McQueen dresses and I absolutely love all of the Stella McCartney dresses too.

With a simple pair of black heels any of these dresses would look fab. If only I had such an occasion to wear them to and the money to buy them with.

Wednesday Wishlist #94

This week's wishlist has turned into a bit of an expensive shoe-fest. I'm a huge lover of beautiful shoes but unfortunately I'm not really a wearer of them, which is a shame.

I adore pretty high heels and cute flats but you'll most likely catch me wearing tatty pumps from Primark than anything lady-like. I can't count the amount of times I've bought a pair of heels in the past and have never worn them. They always end up sat in the back of my wardrobe and then get reluctantly sold on eBay or simply chucked out!

Shoes are quite a good way to add a bit of interest or an edge to an outfit and it's also a great way to express yourself. I particularly like wearing bright, colourful shoes with an otherwise plain outfit. I have a pair of black flats with coral toes but they pinch so much I can barely walk in them. The coral flats above are ideal and I love the shiny material too, but beware scratches! Eek!

Close favourites of mine from the above are the cute and girly black heels with bow detailing. They just look so luxurious and lovely and I would expect them to be as well for that sort of price. I adore the scalloped edging on these and they'd just give such a feminine feel to an outfit, the heel size on them isn't too bad either!

I also really adore the square toe flats I've included in the list. These are pretty formal and 'meeting' like but I can't get over the square toe, I love it but it kind of reminds me of The Witches from the Roald Dahl book too. I included the nudey pumps because I just wish I could get away with wearing something like this. They're so pretty and clean but I know I would just get them scratched to pieces instantly.

My Christmas days...

This year is the first Christmas where I won't be waking up at mum and dad's on Christmas morning.

I have my own house now so for the first time I'll be waking up somewhere else. Vince is working on Christmas day so I am going to be visiting mum and dad's for my lunch, but it will still be quite weird not coming down the stairs to lots of presents!

I think my favourite part of Christmas is going to bed on Christmas Eve and having my mum and dad failing to hide the fact they are wrapping presents downstairs. I can always hear them rummaging around under the bed and in the cupboards where all the presents are hidden.

I know they're hidden there because I always look and I always find them! Bad hiding skills mum!

Over the years it's become sort of tradition to receive a few of the same presents every year and I've even started asking for them now. Every year I receive a diary, a calendar, slippers and of course, some pyjamas. I have so many pairs of pyjamas it's ridiculous but I love getting them every year! This year I've even asked for a dressing gown as well.

For the past eight years I've asked for the latest Harry Potter DVD, but this year there won't be a DVD shaped present in my pile, which I'm really sad about!

While we have spent Christmas day at other places over the years it's always best when it's at home isn't it? My favourite things about Christmas day are of course opening the presents, but being too lazy to take them all upstairs afterwards. I like sitting in front of the TV filling myself with chocolates while mum swears at the Turkey because something's gone wrong with it or it won't fit in the oven.

There's always a dog under the table waiting for some scraps, despite the fact mum makes an entire plate for him, and the kitchen is full of steam and smoke from the vegetables and burning turkey. Once everyone's sat down the laughter ensues as myself and my sister get a fit of the giggles.

Once dinner is over, it's time to sit in front of the TV and watch absolutely anything because you're too stuffed to get up and find the remote control. It's pretty much the same in houses all across the country. This year Vince and I will be trying to spend Christmas Day evening in our own house, watching bad TV and chomping on Christmassy food.

For weeks and weeks after we'll be enjoying turkey sandwiches, turkey soup and turkey curry, as will many other people.

Christmas happens every year and we can always predict how it will turn out, but we all look forward to it year after year and enjoy many memories from past years.

This year will be a tad different, but I guess it's time to create some more traditions and favourite memories about Christmas day. For anyone else looking to create some more, why not check our Sainsbury's new Christmas Days Campaign?
