When I saw the blogging community going nuts over the Enrapture styler I didn't understand why. It's just a hair curler right?

I didn't even want or need a new pair of hair curlers. The last time I curled my hair was nearly two years ago at my Graduation and that was using some cheap ones from Superdrug.

When Leanne posted about the Enrapture styler for £30 on eBay I had already bought one before I realised.

The reason it was so cheap was because the box was a bit damaged and scratched. I was expecting it to be extensive damage as it's almost half of the original price but to be honest there was nothing too bad. The product itself was fine and I'll probably end up throwing the box away or using it as storage so I got a real bargain!

The product comes with instructions, a style guide and a heat proof bag. The styler has three different heat settings that can be mixed and matched for different types of curls.

Usually I am absolutely useless at anything hairstyling related. I had to get my mum to help me curl my hair at Graduation but I found these curlers really easy to use. I opted for heat setting two which gave me quite loose curls.

The curls stayed in for a good few hours before I went onto the very windy seafront! I was impressed with the finished effect and after doing it for the first time properly on my own I found it really easy to use. A good styling spray and a good amount of hairspray would see the curls stay in for possibly the whole day.

I'm still yet to play about with all of the heat settings but I absolutely love this styler! I urge everyone with long enough hair to curl, to get one!

New Haircut!

Finally, I have had a hair cut! I did rather love my long hair but it was getting quite annoying having to brush through the tangles and drying it every morning took forever, not to mention the amount of times it kept getting caught in things. I decided to go for the chop after buying a £20 voucher from Groupon.co.uk for a haircut worth £50 at a local salon.

While I do like my new 'do', I've come to realise that the hairdresser has not actually put any layers in it like I asked. I hate that I never mention it when I'm actually in the salon as I get too carried away with everything. It's not until you get home and wash it yourself that you actually realise! It's a shame but I do still like the length and maybe I'll find somewhere cheap just to get a bit of volume put into it. Here are some rather shoddy snaps, excuse the PJ top!

While it is short, it's still long enough to be able to do quite a bit with. Maybe some waves or curls one day? If I can be bothered that is!

I'm not sure why, as it is faded and the roots are showing, but I seem to be getting a few compliments on the colour of my hair. You'll remember a while back, I dyed it Red, well it's really faded now but there is still a slight twinge, I guess it catches the light well!

What is everyone up to this weekend? Me? Nothing, as usual. I've volunteered to make a Lasagne tonight so I'll be getting on with that soon. Other than that it's set to be another quiet weekend. On Tuesday it is my three year anniversary with Vince so we're going out for a yummy meal to celebrate, but it sucks that I have work during the day!

Anyway, I should probably get on. I'll probably post over the weekend with a few new nail polish swatches, but before I go I just want to announce the winner of my giveaway!!!

There were over 50 entries which is amazing and I loved reading everybody's feedback on what they would like to see on the blog. I've tried to take it on board and you'll be seeing some more personal posts in the future as well as the beauty/fashion/outfit posts that you all like so much!

So, without further ado...congratulations to Kate Louise!!!! The prize should be winging it's way to you soon!!

Keep your eyes peeled for another little giveaway coming soon!

Sniffle

Today was supposed to be my first day back at work after the glorious bank holidays but instead I worked from home. I'm sure I've mentioned this before but I have something called Allergic Rhintis which is like Asthma in your nose. Not that already having Asthma isn't bad enough but now I have it in my nose as well! Anyway, I have tablets for it that seem to keep it at bay but recently I've been sneezing loads and it was so bad on Thursday that I had to leave work early. It gets so bad that I have to breath through my mouth, I can't hear anything and my sinuses are so blocked up that it feels like my head is going to explode, so this was my reason for staying home today.

I'm actually getting really sick of it but apparently there is no cure. Typical. All of the tablets the doctors have given me haven't worked so I'm heading back on Thursday to try and get it sorted! So I've had a pretty lazy day to be honest. I did venture into town to pick up some more tablets and finally showed off my new H&M skirt. Although you can't really see the skirt in the pic, you can see my H&M striped top and Matalan belt!

It still feels weird showing my legs off and I definitely need to buy some more skirts. I'm currently waiting on some studs that I ordered from eBay for my DIY shorts and then I can finally show you them!

I love Fearne Cotton's new hairstyle! Though, I don't think I'm brave enough to get it for myself. My hair is mid-way down my back in length at the moment so it'd be a bit of a change and I'm probably way too lazy to do lots of different styles like Fearne does, or has Stylists do. Though it would be nice to have a bit more volume in my hair as mine is so limp and lifeless! Plus, I'm not sure it would even suit me!! What do you think?

Hair experiment #2 - Colour

Wow, I haven't done one of these posts in a long time. Probably because I go through fazes with my hair. Most of the time I can't be bothered with it because it's so thin and limp that it literally won't do anything I tell it and other times, I go through fazes where I like to try lots of different styles.

When I was younger I had an array of colours in my hair, through school I had brown, red, black and purple hair at different times and in college I had black/pink and black/blonde. I don't know if anyone's noticed (how could you not) that there seems to be a huge trend in Red hair at the moment and I have to admit, I've given in to it. Technically, I had red hair when I was 14/15, so I actually started this trend :p

I've tried to capture my hair in the terrible lighted room that is my bedroom. I really need to get myself a tripod! These pics were taken with the camera carefully balanced on top of my television and my boyfriend's Piano case. You can also see my new ASOS top that I got with the Groupon voucher, I love love love the contrast between the blue top and my red hair. You'll have to excuse the no make-up and the bright white flash. I should really sort out my camera settings!

Hair experiment #1 - The fishtail plait

Yes, I know the fishtail plait/braid is nothing new, but for me it is! I always always always wear my hair down because I'm just so lazy, but recently I've been trying to experiment with more hair styles.

My hair has become so long and lank and it's just basically doing my head in at the moment (irony alert!). All of the layers have pretty much grown out and it's just straight and boring. I'm not a fan of wearing my hair up in a ponytail so I've been trying out curling, plaiting and side ponytails quite a bit recently!

After watching a bunch of tutorial videos, I finally managed to complete my first fishtail plait! Hooray! It took quite a few efforts to get this and I got in a mood with it quite a lot, but finally here it is. I know it's messy and not perfect but I'm proud because it took me such a long time to master. Practice makes perfect!

*I apologise for the quality of these images as they were taken on my Laptop's Web Cam which has super high contrast for some reason!

Thank you to Youtube user: bebexo!

P.S, I found out I didn't get the job at Hotel Chocolat. Apparently they went with someone who had better qualifications in handing out free samples of chocolate and greeting customers. (Bitter, me?) I do however have an interview next week with River Island. Has anyone else ever had a River Island interview? What can I expect?
