Footwear for spring: Butterfly Twists Jade Dalmation Slip On

Butterfly Twists Jade Dalmation Slip On

All winter I've been living in socks and ankle boots and I feel like it's time for my ankles to be free! As the weather is warming up I finally think it's time to cast the boots aside and get into some new spring appropriate footwear.

In 2012 (omg!) I was introduced to Butterfly Twists footwear and in particular its foldable ballet pumps. These ballet pumps lasted so long and I wore them so often so when I was recently contacted by the brand and asked if I'd like to try a pair of shoes from its SS16 range, I just had to see what was on offer. I went for a pair of Jade Grey Dalmation skater style slip ons as I was looking for something a bit more spring appropriate but something that wouldn't leave me with cold feet! These are perfect and I love the grey brushed fur and black dalmation pattern!

I went for the grey version of these as I felt like the leopard and zebra print versions were a little OTT and not very me, plus grey goes with most things so a lot more practical. £60 is definitely more than I would spend on a pair of skater shoes if I'm honest. I probably wouldn't spend more than £30 but as I've been wearing these more and more I am seeing the worth of these and I know how long Butterfly Twists' shoes last too so these could be a real investment piece.

Butterfly Twists are known for their foldable pumps, which make them super easy to pack and travel with and they're super convenient if you need to pop them in your bag ready for a night out. These skater shoes are also foldable and come with their own handy little bag so if you do need to pack them, you can make sure they're kept nice and clean. As these are foldable they do ruche up in the middle, effectively pulling the shoes up at the back so on the first couple of wears these did rub quite a bit on the back of my heel. As the shoes stretched the rubbing stopped and they're actually really comfortable. The insides are pretty padded and there is a cute cushion inside on the heel part for extra comfort.

I'm pretty much a jeans and tee/jumper kind of girl so these look really nice with a pair of jeans, whatever colour they are. They're super comfy for wearing all day long and make a perfect spring shoe!

Have you tried anything from Butterfly Twists' new SS16 range? Let me know in the comments.

Topshop Tassel Saddle Bag

Topshop Tassel Saddle Bag

I haven't had a new bag for a little while...I bought myself a backpack back in May as I was going to be spending a long weekend in Brighton and before that my sister bought me a Zara bag for Christmas so I thought I was due something new.

I have a lot of bags. I get annoyed at all of my bags. I get annoyed at big shopper bags because I end up filling them with rubbish and I can never find anything when I need it. I get annoyed at smaller bags because I can never fit any of my junk in them and they're tricky to close. As much as I get annoyed at them, I still can't resist a beautiful bag, which is why when I saw every blogger and her mother styling the Topshop Tassel Saddle Bag I knew I had to have it.

Luckily it was my birthday in October so I popped a link over to my boyfriend, thinking nothing of it. At the time I sent it, he was in a shopping mall so off he went to Topshop to get it for me. What a lucky thing I am!

It's a very good dupe of the popular Chloe Drew bag, but of course at a much more reasonable price. £35 I think! It's not too big and not too small. I did have to downsize my purse but I can still fit it in the bag along with my inhalers and other general junk. The tassel gives it a bit of a 70s vibe but the gold hardware is my favourite, especially the long chain. Dreamy.

What do you think of the Topshop Tassel Saddle Bag? Let me know in the comments.

How to be Parisian - New Look Biker Jacket

New Look Biker Jacket
New Look Biker Jacket - £39.99
New Look Leather Look Biker Jacket
New Look Leather Look Biker Jacket
While other girls buy sensible winter coats in beautiful pastel shades or waterproof macs, I go for a jacket, with no hood or wet weather protection…it may not be very sensible but I love it.

I do have a 'leather' jacket with a hood already but I'm not keen on it and wanted a 'proper' biker jacket so asked Vince for this one for Christmas. He was a very good boyfriend and it was sitting, waiting for me under the tree on Christmas day. It fits perfectly and the quilted shoulders are pretty dreamy.

It's perfect for throwing on over any outfit but I particularly love it with a pair of black skinny jeans and a breton striped top. For £39.99 I think this is quite reasonable, when in the likes of Topshop you'd be paying double for fake leather jackets.

What do you think of biker jackets? Let me know in the comments.

Zara Mini Doctor Bag

Well aren't I a lucky girl? I received this rather beautiful bag as a Christmas present from my sister/my sister's family and I've officially fallen in love!

Unfortunately I think this version in particular is sold out, but there is a rather fetching orange one available online in the Sale.

I've been looking for a new bag for a while now. I previously had a big Zara shopper and it was quickly filling up with old receipts and bits and pieces, making it insanely hard for me to find anything when I wanted it. The mini doctor bag is so cute and compact and I love the metal hardware as well, funnily enough it's just like an old fashioned doctor's bag (if you've ever seen one and know what I mean!).

It comes with a long handle but I actually prefer putting my arm through the shorter handle. The bag has a button/popper inside but no zip so I prefer to have it a bit closer to me so there's no risk of anything falling out/being stolen.

I almost always opt for black bags but I am loving the navy blue of this one. Before going into the sale it was £29.99 I believe, which I think is a real bargain and I would definitely have paid that much myself!

What do you think of my new bag? Will you be getting one yourself?

New Look Check Crop Top

New Look Check Crop Top - £14.99
Matalan Ankle Chain Strap Ballet Pumps - £12

Ahh my lovely long hair! I'm kind of regretting getting it cut right at this moment… anyway, onto the outfit. Not exactly anything to write home about but I really, really like this crop top. It doesn't really come out cropped on me as I'm so short but I just love it. The pattern is perfect and I love the sleeve length too. So far I've just worn it with plain jeans on the bottom as I'm not really sure what else to team it with, I'm quite wary of clashing patterns.

I had such a job searching for these shoes. Matalan never had my size in store or online so I ended up trying on a size 3 and a size 5. The size 3 was too small and the 5 a bit too big but as there's a strap then my feet don't really slip around in them so I went for the size 5 in the end. There's so pretty and the strap gives a little edge to what would otherwise be a plain ballet pump.

Let me know in the comments what you would team the top with!

Primark Autumn/Winter 2012 Lookbook

I just love the distinction between the Autumn and Winter looks in this lookbook. The autumn looks bare a very English countryside resemblance. The style is very tailored with a cute, feminine edge.

I love the polka dot and diamond patterns and the embellished collars and I also love the mix of different patterns in each outfit. This is really great, everyday wear and I particularly love the bags and accessories!

The Winter looks are a complete contrast. It's all about bringing a touch of glam to the winter wardrobe and I really love when companies think like this. Just because it's winter doesn't mean our wardrobes have to become dowdy and unimaginative. I especially like the denim shirt and sequin skirt, not something I would have thought of putting together but I think it really works.

I'm hoping to take a trip to Primark on Friday so I'll definitely be trying to source some of these bits.

Internacionale Mint Heart Print Dress
Internacionale Mint Heart Print Dress
Internacionale: Mint Heart Print Dress - £10
I'm not 100% sure about this dress. It's such a pretty colour and print but the waistband is just weird! It's much too high up and it gives me a strange shape. However, I think I could definitely get used to it.

I picked this up in the Internacionale sale. It was actually Buy One Get One Free and I didn't realise so when I got to the till and the cashier informed me I had to do a quick dash around the sale rails and find something. This dress had been catching my eye for weeks and as they had it in my size still I guess it was some sort of sign!

I can't complain too much if I got it for free I suppose. It's another nice addition to my wardrobe and I think it will be fine for work. What do you think?

Matalan Bright Tote Bag

Matalan Bright Tote Bag
Matalan Bright Tote Bag - £4*

Matalan Bright Tote Bag
I was recently sent the Matalan Lookbook and along with it was this amazingly bright tote bag! I'd seen it in the shop before and it always caught my eye, but because it was so bright I was a bit put off by it. What would I wear it with, etc..etc...

I was really glad I was sent it as I love it! The shape is great and it's extremely roomy inside! It would make a great beach/holiday bag but I'd definitely use it on a day to day basis as well. It really just cheers you up!

I don't think I should really worry too much about what I wear when I use it. As you can see from the photo above, I'm wearing black and floral jeans and I think it works pretty well. With all the rain we're having lately, it's the perfect substitute for something bright!

The bag is currently on sale at £4 so I'd definitely recommend snapping it up!

Prove Me Right.

Internacionale: Ivory Hanky Hem Shirt - £7
Pop Couture: Maisie Floral Print Skinny Jeans - £24.99

I've been promising an outfit photo featuring this vest top for ages but I've not been able to find much to pair it with. I can't really wear it on it's own without a cardigan in this sort of weather as it's so cold!

I decided to finally pair it with my new floral jeans from Pop Couture, which is a site I've never shopped from before. I was really impressed with the delivery, it was super fast! The fit is a bit off though. I bought a size 8 as that's what I usually am but these are ridiculous tight! I'd say they're more of a size 6, but I like the length and I think they'll stretch after a wash or two, so they're keepers!

I actually really like the print and the colours. I was originally planning on getting some floral jeans in lighter shades but I think I much prefer these! It's just difficult to find a plain top to pair with them!

What else would you pair these with?

New Look Black Studded Collar Dress
New Look: Black Studded Collar Dress - £24.99

New Look Black Studded Collar Dress

New Look Black Studded Collar Dress
Yet another sleeveless dress to add to my collection!

This one featured in one of my Wednesday Wishlist posts not too long ago and I bought it on a whim one day.

The fact that it had a studded collar really made it for me. I had no idea the collar was made of 'leather' until it arrived and I loved it even more when I realised!

I love the sheer skirt and underskirt but it wasn't as fitted as I'd liked. Although the waist does look cinched in, I decided to tie the waist belt around the front to just pull it in a little bit more and give it some shape!

I was contemplating sending it back but after trying it on a couple of times I decided to keep it. It's quite smart and casual at the same time and I think the collar gives it a pretty cool edge.

What do you think?

F+F at Tesco High Summer 2012 Lookbook

It's been a little while since I featured a Lookbook. I've been waiting for some of the newer High Summer books to be released as I featured the normal S/S '12 ones quite a while back.

The reason I always feature F+F is because of the bargain prices! It's just as good quality clothing as your normal High-Street stores but it's about half the price.

I tried to stay away from the usual bikinis and swimsuits and instead go for images of pieces I'd actually wear myself! The mark t-shirt is definitely something I'd wear and I love the relaxed, casual look it creates while also remaining pretty stylish.

The last two images are particular favourites of mine mainly due to the colours! I love the Coral stripe jumper which is perfect for chilly evenings and looks great with a pair of pastel jeans as seen.

Blouses/shirts in this style are huge at the moment and I love that they've been cropped for the summer. The colour of this one is just gorgeous and I love that it's not sleeveless!

Store Twenty One: Fleck Tshirt
H&M: Navy Skirt

Are We The Waiting
Topshop: Square Etched Ring - £7

Are We The Waiting
eBay: OPI Spiderman Minis - £13

This is a really simple and comfortable outfit, perfect for the hot weather we had at the weekend.

I bought the top from Store Twenty One on Saturday and it's not often I actually find something in there worth wearing. It is a kind of cream/brown shade with the same fleck pattern as the Topshop Neppy Tee which I actually bought and returned because I preferred this one better! I love the twisted neckline as well!

The skirt is an old one from H&M that I pulled out of the back of the wardrobe and haven't worn in about a year! It's featured on the blog in the past and I love wearing it with a tucked in top like this.

The ring is one I bought recently online and absolutely love. I don't often wear rings and I have a load of them just lying around but I love how chunky this one is.

You may recognise my nails from an earlier post this week, they're the Spiderman OPI collection, I think they all go great together!

What's in my shopping bags?

So, I've had one browse of the January sales so far and I was so disappointed in most of the shops. I have a £20 giftcard for New Look, yet there was absolutely nothing I wanted in my local store. I think I'm going to save it for the future, as I always find that if I'm looking specifically for something to spend my giftcard on then I never find it, so I'll try and forget about it and hopefully something will catch my eye one day!

I did however, venture into Internacionale and had a good rifle through the sale racks. I managed to find three little gems, two of which I've included here! (One was a simple black skirt that I've already worn and creased up!)

Internacionale Shirt

Internacionale Peter Pan Collar Top

Internacionale Peter Pan Collar Top

I really wish Internacionale would launch an online shopping section of their website so I could link you to these great pieces. If I remember correctly, I'm sure each item was just £5 each in the bargain and I absolutely loved the colours of them both!

Internacionale was a great find for me in 2011 and now it's one of my favourite High Street shops. I never would have believed it would be, as I used to walk straight past it, thinking it was tacky! Oh how wrong I was!

Hopefully these two tops will feature in some future Outfit posts! Keep your eyes peeled!

- Before I go, I just want to let you know about a little blog venture I've just started up. I've just launched a brand new Shop selling accessories and advertising! At the moment there is limited stock as I'm just starting out, but I'm hoping to add more in the future!
