Recently I reviewed the L'Oreal Studio Line #TXT Volume Supersizing Spray and I instantly became a huge fan of it. When I purchased it, I also bought the Wave Creating Spray thinking it would be nice to have some loose waves in my hair every now and then.

I think it's a really interesting product and the instructions are a little different than usual, but unfortunately I think it's a product best suited to thicker hair. You half blow dry your hair, put it into a top knot, continue drying, let it all down and finish drying what should be lovely waves. Unfortunately I think my hair is far too thin for this product. After following the instructions and putting my hair into a bun/top knot, I go ahead with the drying and my hair is pretty wavey but unfortunately because it's not completely dry (you can't fully dry it if it's tied up) I have to continue blow drying, which causes the waves to fall out. Even if they did stay in, the fact that I have to brush my hair after drying, would certainly pull them out completely.

I find it better to plait the hair after half drying as you can pull it tighter, which creates better waves, and I find spraying more product on the hair when you finish drying it to be a good idea too. On it's own I don't quite think this product has the strength to keep the waves in tact so another volumising spray is definitely needed. I'm a little disappointed in the product to be honest as I imagined having great wavy locks, but unfortunately was only left with teeny thing waves, which fell out almost instantly.

Have you tried this? Did you manage to keep your waves?

  1. Topknot?
Interesting - the instructions over here in Germany tell you to create waves by using a round brush and a blowdryer. Hmm.

I like the texture it gives but I find it's not much different from the sea salt spray I often use. My hair doesn't like to be curled it seems. All I got were just a few waves. :(

  2. Ah dear, such a shame this doesn't work on thinner hair! My hair is thin too and cannot hold any style, even straight, so this doesn't sound like it'd be one for me either :(
