Do you know how difficult it is to photograph a product like this? There was constantly a horrible glare/reflection coming off it, but I've tried to do my best!
I recently picked up the No7 Stay Perfect Eyeliner in Chainmail (gunmetal) on a random trip to Boots. Funnily enough I didn't buy it because I had one of those No7 £5 off vouchers, but the VERY lovely lady behind the till found one that a customer didn't want and let me use it instead! I was extremely grateful as it only cost £3.75 in end. That's a bargain and a half if you ask me!
I used to be scared of liquid eyeliner. I could never seem to master it, but then I received a L'Oreal Superliner one Christmas and was able to do it straight away?! I think it was something to do with the long lid, which made it much easier to control, but at over £6 a time, it's a tad pricey.
It was time for a change and No7 are one of those brands that are always a safety net, I know they're a reliable brand and that their products are decent so I couldn't really go wrong. I picked up a liner in a 'gun-metal' shade, which is basically a shimmering grey as I don't like jet black liquid liners for some reason. Is anyone else the same?
Here's a quick tip before I get into the real review...don't try and photograph a messy product like this on your pillow...as you'll end up with this:
The liner's brush is rather teeny tiny as you can see, but it's extremely easy to apply and you're able to create quite a thin line. However, I like my eyeliner to be a bit thicker so you can really see the shimmer, but each to their own!
The liner certainly lives up to it's claim of being long lasting. I've worn this to work for a 6 to 8 hour shift of serving customers and cooking and it stays on brilliantly, even if you become quite hot and sweaty.
I only have two small problems with this product. It tends to be a little gloopy at times, but that's easily fixed, so I can't complain too much. And the other problem is the fact that it's really difficult to remove. I usually use basic make-up remover wipes or face wipes to take my make-up off and I never really have any problems, but with my current wipes, this doesn't budge at all. I have to use Boot's Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover in order to get it off, which is a bit annoying! This won't put me off using the eyeliner though. It's really great value for money and also comes in a range of other shades which I'd be interested in trying out!
