LOOK who's laughing now

When I first heard that LOOK magazine were looking for someone to blog from their FROW, I must admit I wanted it bad. I racked my brains over and over to come up with something creative and different for my entry, but decided in the end, that hopefully my wonderful self would be enough to win the LOOK ladies over, surely?

When my creative juices didn't quite flow hard enough, I decided to simply tell you all why I deserve this brilliant opportunity, because, I really do deserve it.

As someone who used to dress in baggy jeans and band T-shirts, I have come a long LONG way. If I could see my former 16 year old self, I wouldn't recognise her anymore and as well as good friends and family, I also have fashion to thank for that. After leaving University, I became free of everything, or rather everyone, that was holding me back and was stopping me being me.

I was able to surround myself with great people that I know wouldn't put me down. They supported me in whatever I wanted to do and this turned out to be writing and Journalism. Since I was very small I have loved writing and I have blossomed into a confident little writer, with my fingers in many writing pies, but blogging from the LOOK magazine FROW would be the ultimate accolade to how hard I have worked and how far I have come in a relatively short space of time.

Over a Summer free of University I immersed myself in fashion magazines, I soaked up the beautiful images, the gorgeous shoes and the must have clothing and I found in me a hidden love for fashion. Slowly but surely I began writing about all things fashion for a number of websites and I bloody well loved it and enjoyed it! If I'm not enjoying writing about something, then it is obviously not for me, and all these years later I am still loving writing about fashion and have worked my way up to becoming a Sub-Editor for fashion website, Styleclone.com

Blogging from the LOOK front row would be one of my greatest achievements today and it would be one of my ways of thanking the fashion industry for bringing something out in me that I didn't realise was there before. I may not be decked out in McQueen or Dior but thanks to fashion itself, I now have a confidence about myself that is more priceless than any designer gown.
