Vince and I decided to go home for the bank holiday weekend just gone and while I didn't really get up to much, I do have just a few things to post about! I spent most of Saturday clearing out my bedroom and I must have chucked out 3 bin-liners full of stuff! I can't really tell you what it is because it's just junk that I don't use and don't need to keep so out it went!
While I was having a little clear out I came across two of my favourite childhood books by Jacqueline Wilson! Jacqueline Wilson was one of my favourite authors when I was a kid, and these two books, as well as Tracy Beaker, were my absolute faves! My parents took me to meet Jacqueline Wilson in Portsmouth and while I can't really remember much, I do remember her wearing a ton of rings on each finger! I remember giving her a letter and she actually sent a reply to me, but I can't for the life of me remember what I've done with it, argh! I managed to snap a few pics of the books that I got signed when I was younger! I wish I could justify reading JW books at the age of 22 but I don't think I could get away with it, haha.
Another of my favourite authors was Roald Dahl! Who didn't love him to be honest? I managed to dig out my Roald Dahl Treasury book! It's a bit battered but these are the sort of things you just can't throw out! I also managed to find a few teeny tiny children's books which are going in my Neice's book collection!
I also managed to fill the only space I have in my bedroom with a hole hoard of beauty products and bits and pieces. My room is the smallest of the small and only has two shelves, no desk, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. All of my stuff is dumped on top of the chest of drawers so I finally got around to organising it into a little beauty product show stand! Once my sister moves out I should hopefully be moving into her room, where I will have lots of lovely space to display my belongings properly!
Of course, I also managed to buy a few new bits to add to my ever growing collection. My mum and I both have similar skin, as in, we both suffer with lots of blemishes, spots and just plain mis-behaving.
Up until recently she has sworn by Elemis products until they started becoming too harsh for her skin so she has started using the Eucerin brand from Boots. She recommended that I try the Eucerin Dermo Purifyer Cleanser and Eucerin Dermo Purifyer Cream-Gel as she has found it to be quite good. For the past month or so I have been using the Avene range but I have noticed that my skin has got used to it and it's not working as well anymore so I'm definitely going to give this brand a try. It might be a good idea to mix up my skincare products, to help keep my skin in order!
Of course, I couldn't go into Boots without having a nose at the make-up. I picked up this 17 'Peaches and Cream' Blusher from the new Candy Collection.
This blusher is gorgeous! The peach shade could be worn on it's own but if you're like me and don't want to look like you've been punched in the cheek, then the pale shade is great for bringing down the brightness of the peach. The two shades look gorgeous when they're mixed together, very peaches and cream!
While I was at home I had a little raid of my mum's nail polish drawer. A few years ago she did a nail technician course and I was her dummy. She brought lots of different nail polishes that she never uses anymore so I quickly nabbed a few for myself including an OPI polish, old school Nails Inc in 'South Molton Street,' an Estee Lauder polish and a few regular high-street polishes too! I think I got quite a good haul to be honest!
This post turned out to be much longer than I expected it to be so well done if you got this far! See you later in the week!
