Neither of us had been to Brighton before but I was aware of the infamous beach and the shopping areas so our aim was to explore a little bit. We headed straight to the shopping area and 'The Lanes,' which I absolutely loved. As much as I love big shopping centres, I really love small independent and alternative shops like the ones we found in Brighton. They were packed but there was a great atmosphere! I particularly loved Snoopers Paradise where Vince and I found loads of Vintage bits and pieces. Vince was really impressed with the old school Nintendos and Gameboys! I was more impressed with the cute bits and bobs that were dotted around!
Of course, I absolutely loved the fact that there were still quite a few proper record shops in the town. I can't remember the last time I went into a record shop, they are certainly disappearing fast!
We both had a budget for the day so I stopped myself from buying lots of little nick nacks. If I had my own proper place though I wouldn't have been able to stop myself. There were so many pretty little things everywhere, that I started dreaming of the time I can finally decorate my own place!
We went for a little wander after shopping and came across these beautiful gardens surrounding some sort of Museum and Gallery. As we were walking through, it was almost as if we were in a foreign country and not in Brighton. Everything was so pretty and the buildings were amazing!

We just had to go to the beach and Brighton Pier. We both live in Weston Super Mare which is a big seaside town with a massive pier that burnt down two years ago, but it's been rebuilt and is amazing so we just had to compare it to Brighton's. We both really liked it and we won LOADS of tickets on the machines, but it was a shame that all of the prizes were so rubbish!
The beach was really nice and we had fish and chips on the sea-front. Luckily it didn't rain, but it was pretty windy which got a bit annoying. We spent quite a while on the pier and the beach and properly wore ourselves out so we were pretty glad when home time came around!
Overall it was a nice day out, something a bit different from sitting at home all day. It'd be nice to spend the weekend there and explore the place a little bit more.
glad you had fun in Brighton! that rare kind grafitti shop is literally 5 seconds from my college! haha. Brighton is a lovely place :)

I love Brighton Pavilian and the way it has all these links to Indian architecture, so so pretty. I've been there a few times because my cousins live there, and it's still such a lovely place to be.

ReplyDeleteThat sounds like such a fun day, looks like you did lots of exploring! I love Brighton, especially the lanes - like you said, it's good to give independent shops some business. I love all the kitsch-y home-y shops they have along there. That snap of your fish and chips is making me hungry!
