A simple week in photos

Tidy room / Takeaway alternative / New 17 purchases / Roast dinner! / First Easter Egg of the year / Filipino dinner / Daffodil / 17 Glisten polish and OPI Rainbow Connection / She Said Beauty Box / Jing Flowering Tea / March

My chance to take photos of anything interesting has been limited quite a bit since starting my work placement. All I seem to do when I come home is eat, watch TV and go to sleep, so this week's post is pretty simple, hence the title.

I do love including photos of the lovely food I make myself fat with every week! Surprisingly Vince and I decided against a takeaway, opting instead for Sausage, Chips and Beans! One of our faves when we were living as Students!

Tucked into my first Easter Egg of the year and tried out my new 17 cosmetics purchases! Reviews to come soon! Also, can you believe it's March already? Absolutely crazy! I have to wait until the end of the month before I get paid again! It's absolutely killing me not being paid weekly like I'm used to being!

My placement is going quite well and I'm settling in ok, or at least I like to think I am. On Thursday I had an absolutely horrible cold and was sneezing all over the place. I hope nobody has caught it! I keep meaning to photograph my 'work wardrobe' but there is just nowhere to take any decent outfit photos, which is really frustrating as that is exactly what this blog is missing!

Celeb Style Steal #16

I recently spotted this image of Reese Witherspoon looking particularly like Elle Woods in a Barbie pink Michael Kors dress. The dress, which includes black binding, is from the Resort 2012 collection and looks great on Reese against her blonde hair and fair skin.

I really like the black binding as it toughens it up a little bit and I managed to find something similar on the British highstreet! Everything else about the outfit is really simple, no accessories, no handbag and barely any jewellery either, just elegant black heels and tights!

Celeb Style Steal
ASOS: Rare Bandeau Panelled Bodycon Dress - £16.50
Daisy Street - Whitney Mary Jane Heels - £22
Topshop: Pinched Leather Clutch - £32
New Look: 70 Denier Tights - £2.99

As you can see, I managed to find a similar coloured dress with black trim from RARE's collection on ASOS. Even better is the fact that it's on sale as well for just £16.50. It's a bit of a party/going out dress and I'd be tempted to cover up a little bit with a jacket/cardigan.

I just love the Daisy Street Whitney Mary Jane Heels that I'd team with this look. I recently purchased some Daisy Street shoes and they're so comfortable and quite reasonable as well!

The Pinched Leather Clutch from Topshop is a tad expensive for me, but it just gives you an idea. I like black clutch bags but sometimes they can be a bit boring, so I love bags with a little interesting detail like this one!

All in all, a pretty simple but effective outfit! I think pretty much anyone can get away with a dress like this and it's not one that really needs heavy accessorising, keep it simple!

February Favourites

February Favourites
Boots No7: Cleansing Balm, Dry Skin Rescue, Day Cream
Benefit Cosmetics: POREfessional
MUA: Love Hearts Polishes in U R Fab and I WANT U*, Glitter Nail Quake Polishes in Gold and Silver*
Smashbox Girls on Film: Lipgloss in Underexposed*

February has been a good month for new beauty and skincare products! I've discovered a new favourite in Boot's No7 Beautiful Skin range which I reviewed here last week. The products are extremely gentle and have cleared my dry skin right up! They're a tad expensive but luckily I got my products on 3 for 2! I'd definitely recommend them, even if you have particularly sensitive skin like me!

Benefit's POREfessional has been another favourite this month and I reviewed it here, as part of the POREfessionally Pretty set that I purchased! I was surprised at how kind to my skin this product was as well. A brand like Benefit is one that I thought would be quite harsh, but like their skincare range, it's actually really lovely and I'm not wary about using it on my sensitive skin.

Another product that surprised me was Smashbox's Lipgloss in Underexposed which I actually really love. I reviewed it here, and found that unlike many other lipglosses, it was a lovely shade and very subtle. I'm really not a lipgloss person so I was amazed at how much I liked it. It's become an important part of my make-up bag now and I'm very pleased that I was sent it!

MUA's Love Hearts range was one of the stand out launches of the year so far and I was very lucky to be sent a few bits and pieces from the range. You can see my full review here, and I'm certainly not the only blogger that was impressed with the products. It spread like wildfire through the blogging community and I was gutted that I couldn't attend the launch. The lip balms are sweet and subtle, but the nail polishes are the most impressed, coming in some gorgeous shades!

What's been your favourite products this month?
